Postdoctoral and Graduate Student Positions in Biomedical Optics Laboratory, University of Kentucky

The Biomedical Optics Laboratory in the Department of Biomedical Engineering, University of Kentucky, invites applications for postdoctoral and graduate student positions, supported by NIH funds (R01, R21, R41). The Lab develops optical spectroscopy and imaging for quantification of blood flow, oxygenation and oxygen metabolism in normal and diseased tissues of animals and humans. The motivation is to explore the feasibility of optical instruments for diagnosis of various tissue/vascular diseases (e.g., cancer, stroke, cardiovascular disease) and longitudinal monitoring of therapies (e.g., medication, chemo-radiation, revascularization).
Responsibilities will consist of design and development of optical spectroscopy and imaging systems, data analysis, image reconstruction, and in vivo measurements of tissue hemodynamics and metabolism. To apply, submit a CV and a statement of interests to:
