Dara has a Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering. His background is in Finite Element Methods and Computational Fluid Mechanics. In the Bio-Optics lab, he had enhanced the numeric solution to light diffusion through turbid media. He had also developed a new algorithm that uses a convolution kernel instead of a lengthy for-loops in the Laser Speckle Contrast Image (LSCI) technique. The algorithm uses GPU instead of CPU for faster computation. Dara worked on Deep Learning Diffusion Models for image enhancement purposes.
